I know it is not funny, but...

And though the news was rather sad
Well I just had to laugh and
I saw the photograph

I bet they will not even do an investigation over Dick's little accident. What the hell would I know about shooting someone in the face. The guy does look a little like a bird...if you are an old blind devil with a head full of heart meds.

Update: I wish this news story was true!

Of course had Mr. Cheney been shot, the guy that had done so would be in prison right now...

I wish that Dick would take W and Rummy on a hunting trip soon!

The NRA just issued a press release on this. They're rolling out a new slogan:

GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE. DICK CHENEY DOES

I'll give any of you $10 to get that on a bumpersticker for me by the end of the week.

Go there they will make as many as you want...you owe me a ten spot...not really I most likely owe you thousands more than that, if you were keeping tabs.

great photo/caption Jed.
I wonder though- If you or I had shot someone in texas would we have been allowed to leave the state?

"If Cheney had gone to Vietnam, he might have been a better shot."
I read that at Atrios. I just had to share.

Speaking of bumper stickers....

You guys should get bumper stickers made up that say 'the only dick I trust is my own'....
like as a woman I had them made up that say 'the only bush I trust is my own' and 'my bush makes love, not war'....

I know I'm BAD!! but I'm not corrupt and I didn't shoot anyone this week at least :)

what pisses me off is the fact that if the woman who owned the ranch hadn't ratted him out, cheney's office would have tried to cover up the whole thing. That's why we didn't hear anything for thirty hours,

What pisses me off is the lack of accountability. Playing it off as if it's the other guys faul is ludicrous. Anyone who knows anything about hunting knows being in charge of a weapon that fires is YOUR responsibility, not whatever happens to get in the way. I shouldn't be surprised, this administration hasn't admitted culpability of anything else.

After watching public opinion, he's taking responsibility:http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11361657/
at least it's a step in the right direction.

The thing that gets me about the lost time to press is the fact that in any hospital there are rules/laws that a gunshot victom must be reported to the local law right away so the cops can get a jump on the report. The report is then public record since the cops work for the public. You had better believe here in Knoxvegas the cops would publish a report in less than 12 hours (a cops shift length). I guess the secret service over ruled the local thugs to get the story spun while Dick slept off his beer buzz. I suspect also that many laws were broken in this weekend of bird huntin'.

I suspect it was just long enough for the alcohol to be out of his system and worth the bad press for that!

1. Your background rocks.

2. I know it's not funny either, but if you're a hunter, what are you doing in someone else's shot path? Maybe I'm just asking the wrong questions, I dunno.
