MerleFest
This guy will be playing at MerleFest next April with The Waybacks. We were blessed to see him at Bonnaroo as a birthday gift from my in-laws this past June.
I went to MerleFest way back in 1989 and 1990 it was a blast! If you have the time and money it is worth the trip.

Gosh bd, I do understand! I hope you are doing better this week.
I do not think we will get there from here...the time and money thing is an ongoing problem here in "the right to work (yourself to death State)"
Seems like if I have the time I don't have the money. If I have the money I don't have the time. I'll hush now with my whimpering!
Thanks for the visit!

We went to Merlefest from 1995(?) to 1998(?)(I may be off a little on the dates) and I believe it's one of the best festivals ever. We now spend our time and money at the nearby Suwannee Springfest. Merlefest just got too expensive with tickets, lodging, gas etc.
We have seen the Waybacks at SSF several times. They have a recording of a very interesting medley which starts off with a Hank Williams song (Mind Your Own Business?) then goes into Purple Haze with the lyrics to the Green Acres theme song. Very entertaining and interesting.
Sorry for rambling.

I know the tickets went sky high after the first three or four years. That is why I have not been back. It is about two hours drive from here, but it is a trip to the moon on the pocket book sometimes.
I love that "purple-acres-business" medley.
You can ramble as long as you like and I will edge on every word, my on-line sister!

Thanks, Bro!
Oh that show looks like a dream show!! I hadn't even heard of it before.
You must have had a great time at bonnaroo and the merelefest.
wish I could go to either. How was Bonnaroo?
If I win the lottery - I 'll take you and your wife and Red Molly and her hubby and her nephew! We will all go!

Julie, If you win, we are definitely in.
I hope you win! I would kiss your patchouli smelling cheek and feed your pets my own food if you take us all out for a festival!
